Lowest-Dispersion Highest-Purity Fiber Conductor
The problem with optical fiber transmission is that dispersed light does get through the Toslink cable, but only after it has taken a longer path, like a pool ball bouncing off the side-rails, causing it to arrive later. This delayed part of the signal prevents the computer charged with decoding the information from being decoded properly, or even at all. This reduced bandwidth is a measurable signature of light being dispersed by a fiber. The punch line: The less dispersion in the fiber, the less distortion in the final analog audio signal presented to our ears.

Low-Jitter

  • Solid 1.25% Silver Conductors: Solid conductors help eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter.

Q What is the Audioquest Cinnamon Optical cable and what is it used for?
A

It's a digital optical (Toslink) cable engineered for connecting soundbars, subwoofers, and other A/V components, using low-dispersion, high-purity fiber to minimize timing errors and maintain bandwidth.

Q How does it improve audio quality over a standard optical cable?
A

It uses fiber designed to reduce dispersed light paths within the cable, which lowers jitter and maintains bandwidth integrity for cleaner digital audio transmission.

Q What connector types does it include?
A

It's a standard Toslink optical connector and includes a 3.5mm mini adaptor for devices with a mini-optical port.

Q What lengths are available, and is it sold as a single cable?
A

It's available in 0.75m, 1.5m, 3m, 5m, 8m, 12m, or 16m lengths, sold as a single cable.

Q Is this listing new or used, and what's the price?
A

This is an Open Box unit — a returned or displayed item, not brand-new sealed stock. It's priced between $105.00 and $135.00 depending on length.
