What Sets Each Model Apart

Four things change as you move up the AudioQuest RCA range: conductors, noise-dissipation, geometry and terminations.

Solid Conductors

Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of distortion in stranded cables. Each step up in conductor quality brings better resolution, focus, and clarity.

LGC

Long-Grain Copper

Tower, Chicago, Evergreen

PSC

Perfect-Surface Copper

Golden Gate

PSC+

Perfect-Surface Copper+

PSS

Perfect-Surface Silver

Angel — AudioQuest's flagship RCA

Noise-Dissipation

Every metal conductor acts as an antenna for radio-frequency noise. AudioQuest's noise-dissipation layers drain that noise away instead of letting it modulate the audio signal.

C

MacKenzie, Sydney, Yukon, Black Beauty (carbon/graphene)

72v

Dielectric-Bias System

Yosemite, Angel — continuously polarizes the insulation to reduce distortion

Cable Geometry

How the conductors are arranged determines how well the cable rejects noise and keeps the signal intact.

ADB

TB

Terminations

Cold-welded RCA plugs avoid the distortion that solder joints introduce, and better plating materials carry the signal more cleanly into your components.

Cu

Subwoofer Cables

AudioQuest's low-frequency cables are single RCA cables built for the sub output of your receiver or amplifier, using silver-plated conductors to sharpen bass articulation and definition.

Choosing the Right Length

Buy the shortest cable that comfortably reaches — extra length adds cost without adding performance.

1

Measure the real path

Follow the route behind and around furniture, not the straight-line distance

2

Allow some slack

Leave room to pull components forward without straining the plugs

3

Round up

Choose the next available length — the Cable Finder does this for you

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AudioQuest RCA cables.

The best match depends on the level of your system, your budget and the length you need. Use the Cable Finder at the top of this page — answer four quick questions and it recommends the cable that best fits your components, then lets you pick your exact length and add it to your cart.

A stereo connection — turntable, CD player, streamer or DAC to an amplifier or receiver — needs a left and right channel, so you'll want a pair. Chicago, Red River, MacKenzie, Yukon and Black Beauty let you choose Single or Pair; the Cable Finder prices them as a pair. A subwoofer needs just one cable — choose one of our dedicated subwoofer cables.

They are AudioQuest's conductor grades, from entry level to flagship. Long-Grain Copper (LGC) is used in Tower, Chicago and Evergreen. Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) in Golden Gate and PSC+ in Red River through Yosemite have progressively smoother, purer surfaces for better resolution and focus. Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS), used in the flagship Angel, is the top of the range.

DBS uses a small battery pack to place a constant 72-volt charge on the cable's insulation. Keeping the insulation polarized reduces distortion both at rest and while the signal is playing. It's found on Yosemite and Angel.

Both use RCA plugs, but they're built for different jobs. An analog interconnect carries full-range stereo audio between components and is normally used as a pair. A subwoofer (low-frequency) cable is a single cable from your receiver's or amplifier's sub output to a powered subwoofer, designed for bass articulation and definition. AudioQuest's subwoofer cables — Black Lab, Greyhound, Irish Red and Boxer — come in lengths from 2 to 20 metres for subwoofers placed across the room.

Tell it the length of your run and it prices every cable at the shortest length that covers it — as a pair for interconnects — then checks that exact price against your budget. If nothing fits your budget at that length, it shows the most affordable cables that do reach, clearly marked as above budget. You can always change the length or Single/Pair option on any result before adding it to your cart.

Keep runs as short as your setup allows — there's no benefit to extra length. For long runs, Tower, Evergreen, Golden Gate, Big Sur and Angel interconnects and all four subwoofer cables are available up to 20 metres.
