Silent Angel N8S HiFi Grade Network Switch Description

SFP and RJ45 Interfaces
Hi-Fi-Grade Optimized Network-Switch Architecture, Delivers Clean and Stable Network Signals for Your Streamers, NAS and DACs to Recover Music’s Authentic Texture

Main-Controller Clock Fed by a Dedicated TCXO Clock Board
Built-in 0.1ppm TCXO oscillator. The system is powered via optimized trace lengths and linear LDO regulators, greatly improving the unit’s current-noise performance.

Multiple High-Performance High-Current Linear LDOs
Front-stage uses genuine ADI LT3042 combined with PNP devices to deliver high-current, low-ripple power supply. Three-channel SGM2208 devices on the rear-stage provide next-level low-noise power delivery.

Unit-Wide Japanese Hi-Fi-Grade Capacitors
Carefully-selected network transformers with high DCRR and high-temperature resistance; full-lineup Japanese long-life high-temperature-tolerant electrolytic capacitors, WIMA MKP capacitors, and MLCCs of X7R grade or higher across the entire signal path.

Upgraded Appearance • Rich Port Configuration Skin-Friendly Aluminum Alloy Finish
Globally best-selling N8, now fully evolved into the N8S. It inherits the classic robust and reliable hardcore performance while reimagining its industrial-aesthetic appearance. Newly equipped with combined SFP + RJ45 composite interfaces for expanded networking solutions and compatibility with diverse Hi-Fi-audio application scenarios.

Pair with F1S for Dual Power-and-Signal Purification
Eliminate Path-Wide Noise to Restore Live-Performance Fidelity
The Silent Angel N8S is a hi-fi-grade network switch engineered around a multi-stage, low-noise power architecture designed to deliver clean, stable network signals to streamers, NAS units, and DACs. Power runs through an ADI LT3042 high-current front stage followed by three SGM2208 linear regulators, bringing supply noise down to under 50 µV, while a dedicated clock board houses a 0.1 ppm TCXO oscillator with its own low-noise LDO to minimize timing jitter in the network path. Three Gigabit Ethernet ports and two SFP ports run through network transformers rated above 40 dB of isolation at 30 MHz, with tightly controlled 100-ohm PCB impedance and a dual optical-electrical signal path aimed at keeping interference out of the audio chain. Japanese long-life electrolytic capacitors, WIMA MKP capacitors, and high-grade MLCCs fill out the component list, all housed in a cage aluminum alloy chassis. Silent Angel describes it as an evolved, redesigned successor to its original N8 switch, now with added SFP connectivity and an updated finish. As with other audiophile networking products, the sound-quality claims — "recovering music's authentic texture" — come from the manufacturer without independent measurements or listening tests, so it's best evaluated as a purpose-built, heavily engineered networking appliance rather than one with externally verified audible improvement.
Silent Angel N8S HiFi Grade Network Switch Specifications
Silent Angel N8S HiFi Grade Network Switch Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is the Silent Angel N8S, and how does it differ from the original Bonn N8?
The Silent Angel N8S is a redesigned HiFi-grade network switch based on the classic N8. Its main upgrade is dual optical-electrical paths: alongside standard copper Ethernet, it adds SFP fiber ports for cleaner streaming. It's built to feed music streamers, NAS devices and network DACs in high-end audio systems.
Q What ports does the Silent Angel N8S network switch have?
The N8S has three 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-adaptive Ethernet ports and two SFP ports, which are combined SFP/RJ45 composite interfaces. You can use SFP fiber modules to block electrical noise between devices or stick with copper Ethernet. Front LEDs show power, the electrical port status and the optical port status.
Q How accurate is the clock in the Silent Angel N8S?
The N8S has a 0.1 ppm TCXO oscillator generating a 25 MHz main clock. The clock runs on its own low-noise LDO regulator, and its phase noise is rated at 100 dBc at 10 Hz. A precise, low-jitter clock gives more stable data timing for high-resolution streaming.
Q What power supply does the Silent Angel N8S use, and how is noise controlled?
The N8S takes a 12 V, 1 A input with over- and under-voltage protection and draws a maximum of 12 W. Incoming power goes through an ADI LT3042 front-stage filter and then three stages of low-noise regulation, keeping supply noise below 50 µV. For more power and signal purification, it pairs with the Silent Angel F1S.
Q What components and build quality does the Silent Angel N8S use?
Inside, the N8S uses Japanese long-life high-temperature electrolytic capacitors, WIMA MKP film capacitors and X7R-grade or better MLCCs. Its network transformers are chosen for high DCRR and heat tolerance, and port impedance is controlled at 100 Ω. It comes in a caged aluminum alloy chassis measuring 205 × 125 × 58 mm and weighing 1.2 kg, and it is CE, FCC, KC and PSE certified.
