The Sonos Play is a compact, portable wireless speaker built for stereo sound that travels from room to room and out the door, backed by a waterproof, drop-resistant design and up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. A wireless charging base handles at-home charging, and the battery itself is replaceable, extending the speaker's usable life well beyond a typical sealed-battery portable. It connects to Wi-Fi when at home as part of a broader Sonos system, or switches to Bluetooth for fully portable use away from a network, and automatic Trueplay tuning keeps the sound optimized wherever it's placed without manual calibration. Up to four Play speakers can be grouped together for synced multi-room audio, and Amazon Alexa provides voice control. A USB-C power-out port doubles as a way to charge a phone or other device in a pinch. Sonos builds it with recycled plastics and FSC-certified packaging, and it's available in black or white — a lighter, more affordable portable option than the Sonos Move 2 for anyone prioritizing portability and battery life over the Move's larger sound output.
